 What is the difference in bass sizes?

I see 3/4 size, 1/2 size, and 4/4 size in ads but have no idea what I have in terms of scale. I have a 1953 American Standard.

3/4 is considered a full size double bass and is by far the most common size. If that's it in your avatar my guess is it's a 3/4.
