I haven't had a bass amp since I sold my SVT many years ago, but now I am being asked to audition for local bands so I figure I need a new amp. I want a small combo but the Ampegs I've listened to were not what I remember. I played through an SWR WorkingPro 12 and I liked it. Does anyone have any experience with them? Thanks |

I had an SWR Workingman 15 combo that was adequate for a three piece rock band playing through a PA system. By itself it was pushed to the limit every now and then. It never made any barking noises, but it did hit a thermal limit a couple of times. That little combo held up well. The Workingman series was priced a little higher than equivalent Peavey combos at the time. Peavey quality was just as good.
A friend has one of the newest Redhead combos, and it is an amp to brag about. The price is high, but it is justified in the capability of that amp. They sound good! |
