Yes! I'd love to discuss and share washtub experiences and designs here. I've designed a one string fretless double washtub bass instrument that sounds awesome. I'll get a picture up soon... evidently I'm being blocked at work from posting pictures. I'd love to share design ideas with others of like mind. I get no respect from other "real" bass players in that my bass always overpowers theirs at jams. I always try to defer to the "real" bases at festival campfire jams. People are blown away at the clean clear tone I can get from my tubs, not the traditional sounding whump, whump, whump. I am serious about my double washtub bass playing but I also whimsically make cook pot dobros, bowed psaltries, coffee can guitars, etc. Uttermike :{) |

Wow Mike, that must be one powerful gut-bucket bass.
Personally, I'm not a washtubber...I cheat when playing "jug band" music and play my upright. But I'm sure there are plenty of WTers around these parts, and over on the cafe too. |
