For Sale: 1860&#39s Tyrol Bass carved , restored by Williams Instruments Nashville - $4,000 USD

" Treat her like a lady"
Selling my gorgeous 1860's All Carved Antique Tyrolian Bass.
This wonderful instrument was a joy to own and play. It is the 5/8 ths size , lightweight but substantial elemental sound. It was featured in a local orchestra piece. Projection is superb.
Perfect for orchestra, jazz ,I even played Bluegrass on her.

A voluptuous sound emanates from this grand bass that only 150 years of age can give. I had this instrument restored and appraised at Williams Instruments in Nashville Tennessee by some of the finest artisans in the business. It has been converted to 4 strings for modern use. More pics are available if needed.
just a note ; as I am an older player I needed a bass that I could handle myself, this was it. I can carry it with ease , but the sound is deep , rich, and sweet as chocolate cake. YOU will love her! ( hurt my shoulder and just cannot play anymore. It is a shame , I really love this bass.

For Sale: Eurosonic Bass Strings - $79 USD

Purchased these strings new. I put them on my bass and found them to be very easy to play and pleasant to work with but just not the sound I needed for what I am doing right now.

These strings are like brand-new! As described on the Gollihur music site where I purchased them:

"These strings are an alternative to more costly and maintenance-intensive gut strings; they are developing a cult-like following with many rockabilly and bluegrass musicians. They are made of silk and steel cores, wrapped with other metal windings and covered with a specially shaped and colorless polymer, giving Eurosonics a unique, almost translucent look. Very playable, very durable, they just get "that" sound."

Full set- Eurosonic Lights. Like-new; a $140 Value for only $79! Great Deal!

For Sale: Acoustic Bass/Mitchels Plate Mate - $19.95 USD

Mitchels PlateMate, now you can install and love the sound as for many acoustic guitar players have. This is a thin piece of specialized brass made to fit on the under side of your acoustic 4 string bass. This helps balance out string volume, liven up your acoustic bass, and can be used as a ground for your pickup, to elimenate buzzing noises. When installed on your acoustic bass bridge plate, this eliminates the ball-end of the string from setting directly on the bridge plate, which will protect it and protect your bridge pins. You can also check it out at www.mitchelsplatemate.com
Sorry the picture is for a 6 string acoustic guitar, look is similar but with only 4 holes

For Sale: Englehardt Acoustic Bass 1985 I HAVE RECEIVED A SALE DEPOSIT ON THE BASS !! - $999.99 USD

A great plywood Bass manufactured in the same style after KAY transitioned to Englehardt in the 70's . Label inside reads + M1 - serial # 33951 Honey Gold color 1985
Features nice Spirocore strings with not much more than 50 hours of play on them. Has a great LARGE sound and full tone. Some cosmetic bumps along the edges , but really in VVG condition. NO major issues or damage.
Great for beginner or advanced player. Prof setup EASY action. I added a nice adjustable bridge and a new rubber end piece. I LOVE this Bass, but alas, cannot play any longer. I'LL THROW IN THE STAND .*******
MORE INFO
I have owned the bass 5 years and bought it from a friend who played in an dance band . It has Never been repaired, or had parts replaced except for new strings and a better endpiece added. It is in ORIGINAL condition with only cosmetic bumps and scrapes along the edges from transporting in the back of my car. I did paint "cheaters " on the fingerboard , but they can easily be removed. I play in an Old Time Dance band, bluegrass and in a fiddle orchestra. I have never owned a Kay , but my friends tell me this Englehardt is essentially the same as a Kay, by the same manufacturer , sounds the same but without the mystique or PRICE TAG. It will last a lifetime is practically bulletproof and sounds wonderful, pizz or bowed. I see NO reason why you could not play jazz or ANYTHING on the fine old bass. I LOVED it and hate to sell it. But since i hurt my shoulder falling off my horse (really) I cannot lift or carry this bass. I bought a smaller one that I can play and carry. But it will never be the same. This bass has a big voice, a boom boom boom that the" grassers " love and yet full rich tone that can fit into an orchestra. Its a good one.

Pick it up in Winchester, Tennessee. Thanks!

This is a Great looking, Great sounding bass, you won't be disappointed.

For Sale: NS Design Wav 4 EUB - $725 USD

I bought this NS Design Wav 4 to have an easy bass to carry when I was traveling a lot, but my traveling seems to be over. It's a great bass - a friend of mine has one, too, and uses it exclusively. The fingerboard is so smooth, really nice inlays, too. I still like my acoustic upright, tho, and so does the band so this one is just sitting in the closet. This EUB has a polar directional piezo pickup system and says it needs a pre-amp, although my friend and I both use ours just plugged into our bass amps and it works fine. I've also used a tubed pre-amp with it but I've mostly used it without. There is no bow.

This is practically new, has a small ding the size of a pin head on the headstock and there are some scratches on the adjustment knob that you can see in the photo. Photos were a little challenging as most of the instrument is so dark. I have more photos I can send, contact me with questions.

For all the technical specs go here: http://www.nedsteinberger.com/instru...closerlook.php

I will ship from Reno, NV, rate depends on "ship to" location. I might negotiate some on the price.

Label reads: KING Made by the H.N.White Co. Cleveland, Ohio

This bass # 650 has an old professional neck repair with dowels and metal plate. Normal dings and scratches for 70 plus years of playing! Wooden end-pin.

In 1934 The H. N. White Company started making string instruments with the same attention to quality that was used to make brass instruments. The H. N. White Basses quickly gained a reputation for their superior tone but also for their unbelievable quality. The first stringed instruments appear in White Way News Number 7 (1934) and were for the King brand only. In 1936 (White Way News Number 9) The American Standard string bass first appears. All King and American Standard models were made in the same shop. The King string basses fronts were made from the finest straight grain spruce with very close grain quality, while the rest of the instrument was made of curly maple. Each bass was equipped with an improved geared key mechanism. The H. N. White Company claimed that each "King string bass has a greater volume of tone, and carries the vibrations over a longer period of time, than any other string bass..." Production of both the King and American Standard bass products was halted during the Second World War. Production slowly resumed for the King string bass in 1946, and the American Standard Bass by 1949. The post-war US military boasted some 2000 or so King basses in use because of their durability, etc. After 1965 the string division of the company was sold off to the Kay Bass Company.
